" We were approached by the legends Kiah and Tristan Roach-Turner from Guerilla Films to create a bespoke VR experience based on their scifi genre mash up film Nekrotronic.
This involved taking the existing script, characters and narrative and creating a playable VR experience that would serve as a marketing tool and a potential revenue stream upon the films release. After defining what the experience was going to be we attend the set during shootting and scanned a number of key sets built for the film. We then digitized them for real-time interaction in VR. We also scanned key characters, weapons and props so we had a library of assets to use in the experience.
One of the key components for the experience was to recreate the environments digitally with a visual fidelity as close as possible to photorealism inside VR. Sound design and spatial audio was hugely important to bring the user into the world convincingly and then coupled with interactive elements in the experience we managed to create a stand alone piece of content that connects the audience to the movie and its characters by placing them “in” the film world in VR.
